Where to Stay

Rosewood Hotel Georgia is located in downtown Vancouver while the ceremony at Our Lady of Mercy is in Burnaby. We suggest staying at a hotel downtown if you would like to be closer to the reception. Staying in Burnaby, around the Metrotown area, is in between both locations making it a great spot to stay at as well.

ANDRO + BRIANA’S VANCOUVER GUIDE

EATS

It is no secret that Vancouver is known for its food scene, here are some of our favourite spots over the years!

  1. Phnom Penh Restaurant - A family run Vietnamese-Cambodian restaurant in the heart of Vancouver’s Chinatown.

Recommendation: Chicken Wings and Butter Beef

  2. Archer (Brunch) - Serves classic west coast brunch, recently added in the Michelin Guide.

    Recommendation: Chicken and Waffles

  3. CHOCHO Hotpot (Burnaby) - An “All You Can Eat” personal size hot pot restaurant experience.

  4. Pepino’s Spaghetti House - Your classic Italian spot.

    Recommendation: Rigatoni Ala Vodka

  5. Joe Fortes (Happy Hour) - Classic seafood and chop house since 1985, they have the tastiest and bang for your buck happy hour in town.

Recommendation: Mini lobster and shrimp roll, crispy calamari

Fun fact: John Cena loves Joe Fortes.

Special mentions: Sushi Garden, Fat Mao, Botanist, Hawksworth, Sopra Sotto Pizzeria, Singaporean Hawker, Nemesis Coffee, Paragon Tea Room, Earnest Ice Cream

MUST SEE

  1. Grouse Mountain - Known for its outstanding view of Vancouver and the grouse grind (Mother Nature’s Stair master). One of earlier dates was doing the grouse grind, because if you can climb this mountain, you can get through anything.

  2. Stanley Park/Seawall - 400-hectare natural West Coast rainforest and enjoy scenic views of water, mountains, sky, and majestic trees. We recommend renting a bike and biking around the seawall!

  3. Granville Island Public Market - Popular indoor market with restaurants, bars & cafes, plus gourmet food stalls & artisan boutiques. For fun, take the aqua bus from Science World.

  4. Gastown - Charming cobblestone streets, savour craft breweries, trendy eateries, and see the famous steam clock in action. We love strolling around here.

  5. Whistler - An hour and 30 minutes away from Vancouver, Whistler is known for one of the largest ski resorts in North American. However, Whistler in the summer is a hidden gem. Amongst many activities we recommend biking along the Whistler Trail and visiting Scandinave Spa.

Bonus: Visit the spot where Andro proposed, Nita Lake in Nita Lake Lodge!
